Student Internships Summer 2024
In this video, three ӣƵCollege students describe their summer internships. The students share what they do each day, how the internship is helping them in their career paths, and how the College both helped them find the internships and prepared the students succeed.

Marion Gaeta-Escoto, ’18, was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher by earning her Master of Arts in Teaching at ӣƵCollege. In the future, she hopes to return to ӣƵas a professor to inspire a new generation of teachers.
Through StrongPoints®, leadership opportunities, and internships, Mary Maul, ’24, gained valuable skills while at ӣƵand will apply those skills in a full-time position at SAS.
Through an internship and honors thesis, nutrition major Anna-Moriah Fung, ’24, has expanded her knowledge and passion for the field. Her next step: pursuing a Master of Public Health from UNC at Chapel Hill.

The Trusted Elections Tour will stop at ӣƵCollege on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held in Kresge Auditorium in Cate Student Center. The Trusted Elections Tour offers 90-minute non-partisan town hall events featuring experts who will address public concerns about elections.
The 2024 Summer Reading Program is co-sponsoring a wide range of lectures, panels, and experiential programming that relate to the theme of “Strong Voices: Empowering Student Citizenship.”
When the 2024-25 academic year began, the Beehive, located in Cate Student Center, reopened after a summer makeover.
ӣƵCollege Director of Admissions Justine Whitfield has been selected for an International Education Administrators (IEA) Fulbright Seminar in Germany this fall.
Heather White, founder and CEO of One Green Thing, will present “Green Civics: Democracy Isn’t a Spectator Sport,” at ӣƵCollege on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. in Jones Auditorium.
This month, the Frankie G. Weems Gallery at ӣƵCollege features the artist Patrizia Ferreira in the exhibition Precarious Habitats.The exhibition will be open September 5-29, 2024, with an opening reception/gallery talk on Thursday, September 12, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Five ӣƵCollege students recently received a grant from the (Institute for Mexicans Abroad) to help continue their education.
